::Martin recipient of the 2009 Charles N. Reilley Award.

Prof. Charles R. Martin received the 2009 Charles N. Reilley Award given by the Society for Electroanalytical Chemistry recognizing an active researcher who has made a major contribution to the theory, instrumentation, or applications of electroanalysis. 

The speakers are from left to right: Reginal Penner, Professor of Chemistry at The University of California at Irvine, one of Dr. Martin's first graduate students.  Henry White, Professor of Chemistry University of Utah, worked with Dr. Martin in Dr. Allen Bard's lab at the University of Texas in 1980; Prof. Charles Martin;  our own Professor Weihong Tan;  and George Whitesides, Woodford L. and Ann A. Flowers University Professor, Harvard University.

Dr. Martin is the Crow Professor of Chemistry and has been at the University of Florida since the fall of 1999.  Dr. Martin received his Ph.D at the University of Arizona in 1980. His research interests are in the areas of Materials and Analytical Chemistry with special emphasis on nanomaterials and the bio/nano interface. Martin webpage

The Charles N. Reilley Award in Electroanalytical Chemistry is given in memory of one of the most distinguished analytical chemists of the 20th century. Reilley's interests were both fundamental and broad; he made seminal contributions not only to electroanalysis, but also optical spectroscopy, NMR, chromatography, data analysis, instrumentation, and surface analysis.
