Center for Catalysis wins multiple awards at the 2008 UF Engineering and Science Fair.

On February 18th and 19th the Center for Catalysis participated in the 2008 UF Engineering and Science Fair.  A group of graduate and undergraduate students led by Prof. Adam Veige conducted experiments for approximately 1300 K-12 students over the two day period.  The experiments were designed to teach students about fundamental aspects of chemistry such as vapor pressure, polymerization, crystallization, and the different states of matter.  The team was awarded the first place prize for overall most outstanding exhibit, the prize for best visual presentation, and a special recognition for creative demonstrations, innovative design, and outstanding performance.  If you see the following students in the department please stop to congratulate them on their outreach achievements and for representing our department with high distinction and class:
