The Miller Research Group

Openings

Undergraduates -

Twenty-two undergraduates have already gained valuable laboratory experience in the Miller Research Group. Undergraduates are paired with a graduate student mentor who guides the undergraduate in synthetic chemistry projects related to their own research endeavors. Additionally, undergraduates may apply for NSF-REU Summer Research Fellowships.  Five undergraduates have worked in the Miller Research Group as NSF-REU Fellows.

Many undergraduates have expressed an interest in an undergraduate research position.  The best way to obtain a position is to convince one of our current graduate students or postdocs to function as your mentor.  All undergraduates mush have a willing and able mentor.  The preferred major is Chemistry and ideally undergraduate researchers have completed Organic Lab (CHM 221L).

Graduate Students -

As always, the Miller Research Group is seeking highly motivated graduate students to work on various projects in polymerization chemistry and catalysis.  Please visit our departmental website or our graduate admissions website for more information.

Postdoctoral Associates -

With the recent hire (fall 2008) of two post-doctoral associates, there are no current postdoctoral openings available.  However, applications are still welcomed and will be filed for future consideration when openings do become available.

Interested applicants should send a detailed CV by regular mail, as well as a letter of recommendation from the current research advisor (under separate cover).  Additional letters of recommendation will be considered.  All materials should be mailed to:

Prof. Stephen A. Miller
Department of Chemistry
University of Florida
Gainesville, Florida 32611-7200

Your applications will be kept on file and candidates will be notified if there is a suitable match.  Email applications are generally discouraged.  Please monitor this webpage for updates.
