About the Division:
The Analytical Division consists of 13 faculty: Anna Brajter-Toth, Charles Cao, John Eyler, Will Harrison, Charles Martin, Nicoló Omenetto, David Powell, Ben Smith, Weihong Tan, Vanecia Young, Richard Yost, Kathryn Williams, and James Winefordner. The Analytical Division has been consistently rated in the top 10 Divisions in the United States during the past 25 years. Multiple national and international awards have been received by several members of the Analytical Division. The Analytical Chemistry Division consistently receives major funding (~3M$) each year from federal grants. The Division has about 80 students in the PhD program and graduates about 15-20 PhDs per year. Between 15 and 20 postdoctoral associates and visiting scientists are present each year. The Division is well-equipped in major instrumentation, including optical spectrometers, lasers, fluorimeters and absorption spectrometers, electrochemical instruments, surface analysis instrumentation, lithographic techniques, mass spectrometers, nanoparticle processing equipment, atomic spectrochemical analysis instruments, Raman spectrometers, etc.
